Application of Ann for Modelling Noise Descriptors at Interrupted Traffic Flow
نویسنده
چکیده
The noise generated from the vehicular traffic flow is a major source of environmental pollution. The present paper reports the evaluation of the noise measurement due to vehicular traffic flow at interrupted flow condition in intermediate Yavatmal city, district place of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra (India). Traffic volume data and noise level data are collected at all the identified two major Intersections of the city. The noise level data were recorded with precision sound level meter (TES-1352 A, data logger SLM, IEC651, Type2, ANSI S1.4) at the interval of 2 second during peak (morning and evening) and non-peak hours (afternoon). To assess the extent of noise pollution, data is processed in Excel package and noise descriptors, TNI and NC were computed. Simultaneously, traffic volume data were collected at each location. Artificial neural network modeling is performed and used for prediction of noise parameters.

Traffic snarl-up or traffic jam is a common phenomenon in Puri, one of the imperative pilgrimage sites for Hindus as well as a popular tourist destination in India. Traffic congestion inevitably produces traffic noise, in turn annoying the drivers, leading to road rage. Keeping this in mind, the present article has monitored and assessed different noise descriptors in 7 different types of buses...

In recent decades, population growth and progress of technology have shaped large and compact urban settlements. Existence of huge transportation systems and developed urban infrastructures are among the most important properties of modern cities. In spite of prompt transit and facilitated daily activities, development of transportation systems causes many problems, including traffic, air and n...

In the theory of traffic flows the main characteristics are: intensity, speed, and density. They make it possible to use hydrodynamic models. In connection with the development of modern highways and road networks, traffic flows behavior is becoming more and more complex and diverse. In particular, the B.Kerner studies have shown that the laminar solution of hydrodynamic models is poorly corre...

The noise is a major environmental hazard at present. It causes hearing problem, tinnitus, high blood pressure, mental depression, heart palpitation etc. Noise is a usual problem everywhere and involves high health risk, but in today's fast life we ignore its harmful consequences and it results in high health risk having long term effect. From past few decades there has been a lot of resea...
